The sensor is installed in the main electrical panel after the electricity meter and connected via a cable to EVPoint EV7 and EV22 charging stations. Through it, the station can monitor the power consumption of all appliances in the circuit, and if the limit is exceeded, it will reduce the charging power.

By installing a sensor (current transformer) in the main electrical panel, the EVPoint EV7 charging station receives real-time data on the current consumption of all electrical appliances connected to the same electrical installation. In the station settings, the current limit of the main circuit breaker is set, and if the charging station and other consumers together exceed this limit, the station reduces the charging power just enough so that the set value is not exceeded.

This way, it is impossible for the grid to be overloaded as a result of electric vehicle charging. In most cases, you will not need to request higher power for your connection, because with the power regulation function, you will be assured that the main circuit breaker will never trip, and you will be able to simultaneously charge your electric vehicle and use other powerful electrical appliances in the same installation.

The sensor is designed to be installed in the main electrical distribution panel from which the station is powered. The current transformer is attached to the phase conductor. It is not necessary to disconnect the conductor, because the current transformer opens like a clamp and locks once it is installed on the cable. To connect the CT Clamp sensor to the charging station, a four-core cable must be routed between the panel and the charging point. An FTP cable can also be used, with four of the cores used for the CT Clamp, and the remaining four can be used for the "Dynamic Load Management" (DLM) function or for an internet connection via Ethernet.
